Народ, извиняйте, подзакинул тему, но смотрю, она еще актуальна. Прилагаю кусок из переписки с персоналом НР - там указания на установку и где брать драйвера! Ответы по-английски, но понятны должны быть всем.
(Забыл уточніть, что драйвера и указания представленные ниже предполагаются для HP Pavillion dv9925nr. В цедом же рекомендую тревожить именно НР персонал)
I would like to inform you that HP started shipping the notebooks with the recovery manager on Partition D: of the hard drive installed on the notebook. You can use this recovery manager to create the recovery discs and to restore the notebook to factory settings. HP recommends creating a set of recovery discs for the notebook by the user.
To create the recovery discs for your notebook using the HP Recovery manager, I request you to go through the following steps:

The Recovery Manager examines your PC and determines how many blank CDs or DVDs the disk creation process will require. The disk creation process may require up to 10 or more CD-R disks or 1-3 DVD-R or DVD+R disks.
CAUTION: The disk must be either CD-R, DVD-R, or DVD+R. Do not use CD-RW or DVD-RW disks because the Read/Write type disks will cause the creation process to fail.
Create a set of operating system Recovery disks by following the steps below:
1. Click Start and type Recovery in the Search field.
2. Select Recovery Manager , and when the wizard opens, click the Advanced options button, if available.
3. Select Recovery disk Creation , and follow the directions provided in the wizard.
4. After all the recovery disks are created, label the disks and store them in a safe place.

Installation Instructions:
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the above drivers do not work, then the issue is due to incompatibility of the hardware with available drivers for XP
operating system.
However, I request you to run Windows updates on your notebook to obtain any available generic drivers for your notebook :

Further, if there any unknown devices listed in the device manager on the notebook, I request you to install Unknown Device
Identifier program. This program will identify unknown devices not recognized by Windows in your system especially after you
reinstall your system and cannot figure out devices. It will also help you search for workable drivers on the Internet and
contact hardware manufacturer or vendor directly.
