The New Oxford Picture Dictionary CD-ROM
The CD-ROM version of The New Oxford Picture Dictionary adds sound, animation and interactive exercises to the illustrations from the printed book. There is quick access to over 2,400 words in spoken and written form, with 13 themes (e.g. Housing), each divided into topics (e.g. The Baby's Room, Housework and Repair Verbs). Fully interactive topic pages allow students to click on any of the objects in the picture to access the spoken and written form of the word. Interactive exercises and activities help students to increase their wordpower and improve their comprehension skills. And tests and games which involve the linking of picture and word, picture and sound, and sound and word, are available.
The vocabulary is put into context in the short texts and dialogues of the 'Read, Listen and Speak' activities. Students can take part in the dialogues, record their own voice and compare it with the original. It is available in two versions: monolingual and English-Spanish
