Bart's PE Builder helps you build a "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from the original Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 installation/setup CD, very suitable for PC maintenance tasks.
It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.
This will replace any Dos bootdisk in no time!
Additional languagesPE Builder v3.1.8 and newer versions support multi language. A few languages are already delivered with the current version of PE Builder.
Translation how-to:Strings in the program are defined in "lang\.lng" files.

When a translation is not found in the current selected language file, PE Builder will take that string from the english.lng file. So when you have selected a non english language and you are seeing english words, there are lines missing from you current language file.
Verbose mode messages cannot be translated (hardcoded in english).
BartPE (when running the CD):
The selected language file from "lang\.lng" is copied on the CD as system32\lang\default.lng
Translating the program strings:
Please only translate from the main language file "english.lng"! This is a plain text file, so you can use a text editor to create other languages. When translating, try to "keep the Case" (preserve upper- and lower-case).
To enable language auto-detect you must enter the correct lcid (language identifier of the system locale), if you don't know the lcid, leave it empty!!! you can enter several ids like:
lcid=409,40a,410
To see what your current lcid value is, enable the Verbose mode in options and start building. After building check the logfile, the lcid value will be printed somewhere in the top of the log.

If for some reason you are only translating parts of the language file, you must remove all the lines that you did not translate. Don't leave english lines in your language file. Remember that when PE Builder does not find a program string number in your language file it will get that line from the master (english.lng) file.
You must not translate section [language], values "name" and "author".
You must not wrap long lines!!! Keep it on a single line!!!
The ";" marks a line as a comment, don't translate this sign!!!
Translating the help pages:
Please translate from the english help pages, located in "help\english\*.htm". Don't rename the files. This will break the contents sensitive help (F1 key). The help pages are very simple html pages and you can use a text editor to create other languages.
